How Mind the Fare works

You have already bought the ticket. From that moment on, almost nobody is watching what happens to its price. That is the entire job.

  1. 1

    Add your flight

Tell us the airline, flight number, route, departure date and what you paid per passenger. A confirmation code is optional — we do not need it to look up a public fare, and we would rather not hold one.

We check the flight exists before we start. If we cannot verify it right then, we still accept it and sort it out on the first real check rather than making you guess what went wrong.

  2. 2

    We check the fare

On a schedule — daily on Free, hourly on Pro — we look up the current public price for that exact flight number, on that date, in that cabin.

Every check is recorded, including the ones that find nothing. A flight that is sold out in your cabin is a normal result, not an error, and you can see it in the history.

  3. 3

    We detect a drop

A fare only counts when it is genuinely comparable: same airline, same flight number, same date, same route, same cabin, and a comparable fare brand.

We score every candidate fare from 0 to 100 and ignore anything below the threshold. A cheaper Basic Economy seat scores far too low to be treated as your Main Cabin ticket getting cheaper — that is the single most important rule in the product.

  4. 4

    You claim the difference

When a comparable fare hits a new low below what you paid, we email you once with the gap and a link to your booking.

You will not hear from us again at that price. If it drops further, that is a new low and a new email. If it rises, we stay quiet.

Questions people actually ask

Will Mind the Fare rebook my flight for me?
No. Mind the Fare never changes, cancels, or rebooks your ticket, and never contacts the airline on your behalf. We watch the price and tell you what we find. Any action on your reservation is yours to take.
Does a price drop mean the airline owes me money?
No, and we will never say that it does. Whether a lower fare can become a credit or refund depends on your ticket's fare rules and the airline's current policy, which we cannot see. We show the difference as potential savings and point you to your booking so you can check.
Why did you find a cheaper fare but not alert me?
Almost always because it was not comparable — a different fare brand, a different cabin, or a connecting itinerary rather than your nonstop. The flight detail page shows the match score for every check, so you can see exactly why something was or was not counted.
How often will you email me?
Only when a comparable fare reaches a new low below what you paid. The same price will never email you twice. If the fare rises and then falls to a new low, that is one new email.
What do you do with my confirmation code?
It is optional. If you provide one, it is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, and only the last three characters are ever shown back to you. We never store payment details or passenger documents.
Which airlines are supported?
Delta today. The fare-source layer is built so other carriers can be added without changing how monitoring, matching or alerting work.
